Kathy’s professional experience is grounded in the scientific, marine, and oil and gas industries.
Kathy held the positions of UIC Oil and Gas Support Services President and UIC Marine Services President simultaneously during her tenure at the Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC). She had oversight of four operating companies and two joint ventures. In her roles she was accountable for sustaining a small existing oil and gas business in and around Barrow, AK and for building a start-up oil and gas service company in the Prudhoe Bay, AK area. In the marine group Kathy was accountable for the marine shipping common carrier that services all of the remote villages on the North Slope of Alaska, the certification of the new 150' landing craft, the Unalaq, and expanding and developing new business services to enhance financial growth.
In these positions she developed proposals, responded to RFPs and negotiated multi-million dollar contracts, while managing client relations with the various oil and marine companies.
Kathy served as both the Vice President and General Manager of Operations and Maintenance for ASRC Energy Services, Alaska (AES). There she led safe and efficient operations and maintenance of several North Slope Production Sites. She was accountable for business development activities including new client development, proposal writing and development, RFP response and multi-million dollar contract negotiations, while managing current client relations with the various oil and oil service companies. Through her leadership, business development and proposal development AES was able to win over $200 million in contracts.
Kathy's expertise in performing business and proposal development is rooted in her operations background and knowledge of both the contractor and pipeline sides of the Alaska Oil Business. For over a decade, she held several significant positions with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, serving as Chief of Staff, Director of the Valdez Terminal and Senior Director of Valdez Operations. She effectively implemented the integration of the Valdez Marine Terminal and SERVS Divisions. She was also instrumental as a member of the steering committee in developing the future strategic plan that will carry Alyeska into 2033.
